This magnificent neo classical styled synagogue was consecrated in 1897 and restored in 2002. The new Shabbat sound system provides subtle speech reinforcement from the rabbi’s pulpit to listeners throughout the men’s and women’s galleries. We worked with the Zomet Institute to ensure full compliance of the sound system with Halachic restrictions of Jewish law. Acoustics advice focused on improving distribution of the cantor’s unamplified voice from the central bimah. |

This shingle style sanctuary reflects the synagogue’s early years when they gathered as a summer congregation in a large tent. Now a year-round congregation, the summer months continue to bring hundreds of worshipers each Sabbath. Our Shabbat sound system design is fully Zomet compliant, and can serve the sanctuary alone or include two large outdoor terraces for overflow summer crowds. |

As part of a renovation of this Georgian styled synagogue we designed new architectural features, specified materials and finishes, and suggested noise reduction methods for the mechanical systems, which work together to enhance unamplified speech acoustics for the front and center bimahs. A speech reinforcement sound system was designed for non-Shabbat use initially, but prepared for upgrade to full Zomet compliance for Shabbat use in the future. |
